America's Top Doctors is a published book and on-line resource directed to patients and referring physicians. The publisher is CastleConnolly and the annual ratings have been published since 1992. They employ a physician-led research team which surveys thousands of physicians each year in order to identify the very best in every specialty for every kind of problem. Physicians can not and do not pay to be in any Castle Connolly listing, whether it is online or in print. The 2005 survey was completed November 15, 2005. The Best Doctors in America is an on-line resource developed by Best Doctors Inc. Best Doctors believes that physicians are the most qualified to evaluate the experience and skill sets of other physicians. They ask "If you or a loved one needed a doctor in your specialty, to whom would you refer them? The survey is issued in April of each year.
