Recordia nearly died during her fourth delivery, due to the rare obstetric emergency known as amniotic fluid embolism (AFE), or anaphylactoid syndrome of pregnancy. She says she could not be more grateful to the team at Barnes-Jewish and is thankful that she doesn’t have any devastating long-term effects.
