Body Mass Index (BMI) Tool for Children and Teens

The body mass index (BMI) is a measure of a person's body fat. The index number uses a person's weight and height. In children and teens, the index can tell you if your child may weigh too little, too much, or is at risk for weighing too much. A child's body fat changes with age. Girls and boys differ in how much body fat they have as they grow.

This tool gives a BMI for children from age 5 to age 19.
