The Comprehensive Epilepsy Center is an active participant in clinical trials designed to better understand the best use of existing treatment options and to test promising new treatments. Since current anti-epileptic medications do not control seizures for all patients, new medications are developed to find better ways and new options for treatment of refractory epilepsy.
Within our center, as a part of the evaluation and treatment process, some patients will qualify for enrollment in clinical trials to use new anti-epileptic medications which are currently unavailable by regular medication prescription. The neurologists within the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center have extensive experience in the clinical anti-epileptic medication trials and in determining who would be a good candidate for such trials.
