Insulin Pump Clinic
The Insulin Pump Clinic is for patients who have had a kidney transplant, have diabetes and are using an insulin pump. It meets quarterly and patients meet with a nephrologist, a diabetes nurse educator and dietitian. New information on insulin pump technology is presented at a lunch after the completion of clinic.
Living-donor Paired Kidney Exchange
Many individuals in need of a kidney transplant have family and friends who have generously stepped forward in hopes of becoming a living donor. Unfortunately, about half of these potential donors discover they are unsuitable because of blood type or tissue mismatch.
To increase the availability of living-donor kidneys for transplant, Barnes-Jewish Hospital has joined a small number of leading medical centers in offering an innovative living-donor paired kidney exchange program. This novel approach allows patients with kidney failure who have willing but unsuitable donors to exchange kidneys. Learn more.
