VAD Awareness: How to Respond Registration

Learn how to treat a person with a ventricular assist device (VAD) in an emergency situation. *CEU credits will be provided for this event.

The Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Transplant Center invites all first responders to attend one of our two sessions on how to best treat patients with a VAD.

Each session's agenda will include:
  • Heart failure and VAD overview – Transplant physician
  • Details of the devices – VAD nurse coordinator
  • What every EMS provider needs to know about VADs in the field – Emergency Medicine physician
  • Q&A session/hands on time with the devices

  • The event is free, but registration is required.
