Julia Silber Ruvelson, Vice President, foundation

Julia Silber Ruvelson, vice president of the Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, joined Barnes-Jewish Hospital in July 2006, with more than 20 years of development experience. Since her arrival, she has worked with the board, hospital leadership, and foundation staff to position the foundation to expand and enhance fundraising activity. During her tenure, the foundation reached the Goldfarb School of Nursing Campaign’s $20 million goal, increased new chair endowments by 34 percent and increased the foundation’s donor base.

Prior to her arrival at the foundation, she was the director of development for UW Medicine, the University of Washington’s academic health system that includes the School of Medicine, UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Other experience includes fundraising for Harvard University, UCLA School of Medicine including Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and the Jules Stein Eye Institute, John Tracy Clinic, a worldwide preschool of deaf children and their families, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, and the Angeles Girl Scout Council. Ruvelson earned a master of public administration at the University of Southern California with a specialization in intergovernmental management, and a bachelor of arts from the University of California, Los Angeles.
