Joint Commission Guidelines
- Collaboration with the chief operating officer to create a comprehensive source of Joint Commission guidelines
- From these efforts, a redefined Quality and Patient Safety department was created at the hospital.
GI Lab
- Operations engineering project analyzed bed utilization
- Developed a solution to increase efficiency and utilization without increasing the costs of the department
Emergency Department
- Development of new emergency department
- Coordinated a major initiative to decrease wait times for patients visiting the emergency room
Diabetes Center
- Developed a new comprehensive diabetes center, beginning with concept planning and ending with physical facility design
- Helped create staffing, operational, and marketing models
Operating Room
- Played a key role in facilities planning and design of the largest operating room construction initiative in the country
- Helped in operating room process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and overall satisfaction
Resident Skills Training
- Played a key role in the development of a standardized central line insertion training program for incoming residents across several academic departments
Medicine Resident Clinic Redesign
- Helped manage the scope and design of a new Medical Office Building which includes space for an expanded Medicine Resident Clinic
- Visited other major Academic Medical Centers to gather design and operational benchmarks for the clinic, worked directly with hospital and Washington University School of Medicine senior leadership to define patient and provider needs, and managed logistics associated with this extensive capital project
Heart & Vascular Center
- Facilitated the development and execution of plans to create a Heart & Vascular Center front door
- Coordinated the internal hospital campaign for the American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Walk 2011
Master Facility Planning
- Facilitated and managed the daily BJH activities related to the Washington University Medical Center (WUMC) Campus Renewal Plan
Neuroscience Center
- Conducted financial and volume trend analysis to drive strategic planning
- Performed bed utilization analysis and developed a business case for restructuring the available Neuroscience bed platform within Neurosurgery and Neurology departments
BJC Stroke Integrated Practice Unit
- Coordinated the development of the BJC Stroke Integrated Practice Unit led by CEO
- Served as administrative liaison to strategic work groups and facilitated interdisciplinary system meetings
