Tucked away in a quiet corner of beautiful Clayton, we offer both long-term care services as well as a rehabilitation unit. Our rehabilitation unit is dedicated to the more critical needs of orthopedic, post-surgical, stroke recovery and other patients requiring continuing medical treatment after hospitalization. This continuum of care is backed by the reputation and resources of the world-renowned Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University physicians.
At Barnes-Jewish Extended Care, our patients receive expert, attentive care. Our staff-to-patient ratio is higher than most traditional extended care facilities and we pride ourselves on the individual attention we’re able to give our residents. Barnes-Jewish Extended Care offers a variety of care that goes beyond traditional skilled nursing services to include:
- Sub-acute care including intensive rehabilitation and medically complex care
- 24-hour skilled nursing care
- IV therapy
- Respite care
- Onsite physical, occupational and speech therapy
- Total parental nutrition and nutritional services with a registered dietitian on staff
- Complex wound care
Barnes-Jewish Extended Care is accredited by The Joint Commission. In addition, we are Medicare certified and we accept most commercial insurance plans.
