Ride Your Bike to Fund Cancer Research

What Your Gifts Support

You can choose to help Barnes-Jewish Hospital save lives and transform healthcare regionally, nationally, and around the world with a gift to the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Foundation to support any of these areas:

Percutaneous Heart Valve Replacement Trials
Clinical Research:
Gifts support groundbreaking studies by Washington University Physicians and Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College faculty at Barnes-Jewish Hospital that will expand the body of medical knowledge; improve treatment, recovery, and outcomes; ease suffering; and bring us closer to cures.

Although the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Foundation supports a variety of projects per donor wishes, a majority of our funding is for research into heart care, cancer, diabetes, brain tumor, stroke, and transplant. Significant research support is provided in perpetuity through endowed chairs and professorships for outstanding clinicians and researchers.

 Intraoperative MRI
Technology: Gifts bring to Barnes-Jewish Hospital the latest advances in equipment for diagnosis, surgery, and treatment, offering patients new options, new answers, and new hope.

For example, gifts to the Foundation funded the hospital’s robotic da Vinci Surgical System that makes complex procedures more precise and recovery shorter, and the hospital’s Intraoperative MRI suite that allows for real-time visualization during brain surgery to improve accuracy, safety, and effectiveness in tumor removal.

Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College
Education:
Gifts to support fellowships, nursing scholarships, awards, lectures, and programs that prepare high school students for health careers, which help Barnes-Jewish Hospital to cultivate the most dedicated, compassionate, knowledgeable, and skilled healthcare professionals who will be leaders in academic medicine at Barnes-Jewish and other leading hospitals

Gifts like yours can support any type of nursing degree or medical specialty.

Patient Care: Gifts help Barnes-Jewish Hospital reach the underserved in our community by supporting needs that a patient may not be able to afford but are essential to treatment, such as medication, lodging, food, home care equipment, and transportation.

Gifts also help Barnes-Jewish provide services to overcome language and cultural barriers between patients and caregivers. Gifts help Barnes-Jewish offer free flu shots and health screenings throughout the community, as well as programs that improve health literacy and encourage healthier lifestyles.
