The Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Heart & Vascular Center has many minimally invasive options including stenting to restore blood flow.  Our specialized approach to open heart surgery allows those with mitral valve problems to recover faster with less pain and scarring through a minimally invasive procedure called a mini-thoracotomy.
