Healthy Weighs is a 10-week weight management class led by a registered dietician. This class combines small group discussion and individual sessions. Dieticians will share tools to help you plan, track and succeed in your weight management struggle. The focus will be on learning more about yourself, your personal choices and how you can modify your lifestyle choices to reduce weight, be more active and live longer.
Fitness for Women 101
Fitness for Women 101 is a 10-week exercise class for women who struggle with starting an exercise program. As a beginner class, the focus will be introducing women to a variety of exercise and behavioral concepts. The exercise physiologist will focus on cardio and resistance exercises that will build in intensity over the course of the 10-week program.
Each participant will receive individual attention similar to that of personal training, yet in a small group setting. The objectives of the class are to empower, teach, encourage and motivate by making exercising fun, while also identifying potential stumbling blocks or barriers that keep women from exercising consistently.
Supervised Exercise Program
Our location at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers a full line of cardio exercise and resistance equipment. All participants meet with a registered nurse prior to starting an exercise program, and the first exercise session is led by an exercise physiologist. The facility is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
