NURSES EARN HIGHEST HONOR

Barnes-Jewish Hospital nurses have done it again.

In 2003, Barnes-Jewish was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This is the highest national recognition for excellent nursing practices in hospitals. Now in 2008, Barnes-Jewish received redesignation as a Magnet hospital. Only 5 percent of U.S. hospitals attain Magnet recognition.

“This redesignation reflects the caliber and commitment of our nurses,” says Coreen Vlodarchyk, RN, vice president of patient care services and chief nurse executive at Barnes-Jewish.

“It shows the hospital is home to highly skilled, professional nurses who provide compassionate care.”
