OBJECTIVES
This activity is designed for general neurologists, primary care physicians, and residents. PA's, NP's and RN's are also welcome to attend. The intended result of this activity is improvements in knowledge, competence, performance and patient care. At the conclusion of this seminar attendees will be able to:
- Review of biomarkers utilized in evaluation of multiple sclerosis.
- Summarize key concepts from AAN 2012 for contemporary management of multiple sclerosis.
- Describe the role of biomarkers in the management of individuals with MS and how they may be integrated into clinical practice.
- Recognize the commonly heard chief complaints and anatomic patterns seen in diabetic neuropathy.
- Approach the literature investigating the pathophysiology of diabetic neuropathy.
- Utilize the tools available to characterize the nature of a patient’s neuropathy
- Develop a “short list” of screening tests to include and exclude other common causes of neuropathy.
