ST. LOUIS – October may be a few months away, but for those interested in participating in the third annual Pedal the Cause, organizers are offering “Early Bird” specials for those who register early.
Participants who register for the cycling event before June 1 will receive 50% off their fundraising commitment and those who register before August 1 will receive 25% off. In addition, high school and college students are eligible for a special reduced fundraising commitment of only $100.
Pedal the Cause, held Oct 6-7 in downtown St. Louis, is unique. Every dollar raised from this event not only stays in St. Louis, but goes directly to cancer research at the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine as well as St. Louis Children’s Hospital. In its first two years, Pedal the Cause has raised over $2 million in the fight against cancer.
“It has been proven that riders who sign up early raise significantly more money than those that sign up closer to the event,” says Jay Indovino, Pedal the Cause executive director. “If someone is nervous about the fundraising commitment, this is a great opportunity.”
There are participation opportunities for cyclists and non-cyclists alike. With four routes of varying length, avid and amateur cyclists are sure to find a route customized to their skill levels. Those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground may participate in the PTC Spin Tent, register as virtual riders or volunteer.
