General Gynecology

Women needing gynecological care at Barnes-Jewish Hospital are treated by physicians within the Division of Gynecology at Washington University School of Medicine. The physicians are focused on providing state-of-the-art therapies and compassionate care to women to maintain their optimal gynecological well-being and treat a wide range of gynecological problems. Services include consultation and treatment for contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, menopausal medicine and hormone replacement therapies as well as regular screening for cancers and other abnormalities of the reproductive system.

Gynecologic Research

This practice is especially well known for its work with menopausal patients. The Division of Gynecology currently participates in several multi-center studies of new drug therapies designed to help manage menopausal symptoms (such as hot flashes) and related risks (such as bone loss).

Obstetrics & Gynecology Team

Full-time general gynecologists, all of whom are board-certified in the practice of obstetrics and gynecology, provide patient care. In addition, full-time general obstetricians provide pre-natal care and delivery for women expecting normal labor and delivery. For high-risk or multiple births, patients are referred to the division of Maternal and Fetal Medicine within the Ob/Gyn Department.
