Jeffrey E. Johnson, MD, chief of service
Dr. Johnson is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Chief of Foot and Ankle Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1980. Following a residency in orthopedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic, he served a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Texas in Houston.
Dr. Johnson’s clinical interests are in adult and adolescent foot and ankle disorders, including trauma and trauma-related deformities, sports injuries of the foot and ankle, arthritis, flat foot and high-arched foot deformities, neuromuscular disease, bunions, hammertoes, foot and ankle arthroscopy, foot complications of diabetes, and shockwave therapy for heel pain. In addition to numerous honors and recognitions, Dr. Johnson has been ranked among the best orthopedic surgeons in the nation by Best Doctors in America. Along with his active clinical practice, Dr. Johnson is involved in research focusing on the effects of shockwave therapy in treating heel pain, treatment of diabetic foot complications, adult flat foot deformity and arthritic conditions of the great toe.
Sandra Klein, MD
Dr. Sandra Klein is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Klein received her undergraduate degree (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Missouri – Rolla and earned her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in orthopaedic surgery at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital followed by a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at The Foundation for Orthopaedic, Athletic and Reconstructive Research & Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas under the direction of Thomas O. Clanton, MD.
Dr. Klein is currently a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Klein’s practice is focused on the evaluation and treatment of adult and adolescent foot and ankle disorders, including foot and ankle arthritic conditions, deformity correction, trauma, sports injuries and reconstructive procedures. She has a special interest in arthroscopic procedures. Her research interest includes forefoot deformity and sports injuries of the foot and ankle.
Dr. Klein’s orthopaedic practice is located at Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center and Washington University Outpatient Orthopedic Center in Chesterfield, MO.
Jeremy McCormick, MD
Dr. Jeremy McCormick is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. He received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Engineering Sciences, and earned his medical degree from Loyola University of Chicago. He completed his internship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota Medical Center. Dr. McCormick then moved to Worcester, Massachusetts where he completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of Massachusetts. Dr. McCormick concluded his training with a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the OrthoCarolina Foot and Ankle Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dr. McCormick’s practice centers on the evaluation and treatment of all adult and adolescent foot and ankle disorders. This includes problems related to sports injuries, trauma, arthritis, tendon disorders, flatfoot deformity, hallux valgus/bunions, rheumatoid arthritis, post-traumatic deformity, foot complications from diabetes, and neuromuscular disorders. He has a special interest in sports and dance injuries, arthroscopic treatment of foot and ankle disorders, and external fixation for deformity correction.
