Ken Yamaguchi, MD, chief of service
Dr. Yamaguchi is the Sam and Marilyn Fox Distinguished Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Chief of the Shoulder and Elbow Service at Washington University School of Medicine. Board-certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Yamaguchi is consistently listed in America’s Top Doctors and Best Doctors in America. He specializes in degenerative, traumatic, and orthopedic sports disorders of the shoulder and elbow, including treatment of the rotator cuff, instability, frozen shoulder, and degenerative and rheumatic arthritis of the shoulder and elbow.

Dr. Yamaguchi earned his medical degree and served a residency in orthopedic surgery at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He completed a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York in 1995.

Leesa Galatz, MD
Dr. Galatz is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine. Listed in Best Doctors in America, Dr. Galatz specializes in the treatment of traumatic, degenerative, and sport injuries of the shoulder and elbow, rotator cuff disorders, arthroscopic surgery of the upper extremity, shoulder instability, and shoulder and elbow joint replacement. She has special expertise in minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder and elbow, and has particular interest in upper extremity trauma and fractures.

Dr. Galatz earned her medical degree and completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. In 1999, she completed a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Jay Keener, MD
Dr. Keener is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and serves as an Assistant Professor in Orthopedic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine. Also formerly a physical therapist, Dr. Keener specializes in shoulder and elbow arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement and also treats shoulder instability; labral tears and biceps tendon injuries; rotator cuff disease/tears; frozen shoulder; shoulder fractures; shoulder and elbow arthritis; throwing injuries; and acromioclavicular and sternoclavicular joint injuries.

He earned his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine. Following a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Iowa, Dr. Keener completed a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 2004.
