Abstract Submission:

The conference is accepting abstracts for both paper and poster presentations. Team members from all disciplines are invited to submit quantitative or qualitative research projects, pilot studies and evidence-based practice projects.

Each research submission should include:

  • a research question
  • background
  • purpose
  • methods
  • results
  • implications of the research study

Each evidence-based practice submission should include:

  • identification of a practice problem in a PICO (problem, intervention, comparative intervention, outcome) format
  • methods
  • outcomes
  • implications of the practice change

Submissions should be:

  • 325-word structured abstract
  • Word document attachment
  • typed in 12-point font
  • single-spaced
  • one-inch margins

No tables, figures or images may be included in the abstract. Incomplete abstract submissions will not be reviewed. Abstracts are due via email to jas4626@bjc.org by August 9.

Dr. Rantz has developed and sustained a research program to improve quality of care of elderly. Her innovative work in nursing home quality spans nearly thirty years - in practice and as a leading researcher - and establishes her as a premier international expert in quality measurement in nursing homes. She will be discussing falls, fall prevention, etc. at the conference."Billions of dollars are spent in healthcare costs in regards to treatment of falls," said Marilyn Rantz, professor at the MU Sinclair School of Nursing, "Our research is targeted to not only detecting falls, but also conducting fall-risk assessments."
