Meet Bob Walpert, a Prostate Cancer Survivor
Bob Waplert's father died of prostate cancer 22 years ago. In 2010, at the age of 53, Bob was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Bob, his wife Jennifer, and their five children were scared by the diagnosis, but motivated to find the best possible care for Bob. After talking with Dr. Sam Bhayani at the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine, they were confident that he was the best doctor to care for Bob. After talking about all of the possible treatment options, Dr. Bhayani and Bob agreed that small-incision surgery using the daVinci Surgical System
would provide the best possible outcome for Bob. Charitable gifts to The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital enabled Barnes-Jewish Hospital to purchase the daVinci.
Today, Bob is cancer-free and living a full life. Hear the Walperts' story in this video.
