Because Barnes-Jewish Hospital’s mission is to provide exceptional care, we are always looking for volunteers who want to help others. Our volunteers are an important part of the care team, and they help not only patients and families but also the people who care for our patients. We offer opportunities for meaningful experiences and the chance to make a difference in people's lives. Most volunteer opportunities are Monday through Friday during business hours. A limited number of evening opportunities are available.
Our volunteer activities include:
- Helping patients and families navigate our campus
- Welcoming patients arriving for treatment
- Providing assistance on patient care floors
- Supporting administrative offices in the hospital
Becoming a Barnes-Jewish volunteer is easy. Follow these four steps:
- Complete the online application.
- Submit references once we receive your application.
- Participate in an interview.
- Participate in orientation.
Volunteer candidates typically complete the process in a few weeks.
