Top Radiologists and Technologists

Meet Your Radiologists

Your radiologist is the doctor who reads your radiology study, for example an MRI or CT scan, and then delivers your results to your physician. It is very important that the radiologist who reads your study be highly trained to make sure you get accurate results the first time.  In general, radiologists train for 13 or 14 years in preparation for their career, but here at Barnes-Jewish Hospital our top radiologists have raised the bar even higher. 100% of our radiologists become sub-specialized in specific areas of the body and are trained to detect even the smallest abnormality. All of the radiologists at Barnes-Jewish Hospital are board certified and are recognized experts in their field. Many of our radiologists can be found on lists of America’s Top Doctors and Best Doctors in America.

Meet Your Radiologic Technologists and Staff

Your radiologic technologist is the person who performs your radiology study, for example an MRI or CT scan. It is very important that the radiologic technologist be highly trained to make sure you get the best image possible and ultimately accurate results the first time. 100% of the technologists at Barnes-Jewish Hospital are registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and have gone through extensive training to know how to use the minimal amount of radiation to obtain your images.

Additionally, all sonographers at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Radiology are registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Since every patient is unique, the sonographer’s high-quality training enables them to distinguish even the most subtle differences between normal and abnormal anatomy.

“Our department stands out because of our compassion and outstanding image quality. We strive every day to make our patient’s visit more pleasant and are constantly looking for ways to improve.”
- Aleshia Repa, RT(R), General Diagnostic

“At BJH Radiology, patients can have PET exams they can’t get anywhere else and have their exams read by the same physicians that developed this modality from the beginning.  Our physicians set the standards for how these studies should be performed.  Representatives from Radiology departments around the country and the world come here to find out how to perform these exams.”
- Renee Burney, Charge Technologist, PET

“I’d like to think I make a difference all day, every day - every patient counts.  I talk to my patients, I listen to my patients, and I respect the staff and patients.”
- Mandi Weiss, RT(R)(M), Interventional Radiology
