WEST COUNTY EXPANSIONS

Expanded Services: Patients in St. Louis County are getting improved access to the nationally recognized heart and cancer care provided by Washington University physicians and Barnes-Jewish Hospital thanks to an expansion of services on the campus of Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in Creve Coeur.

Heart & Vascular Center: A new cardiac monitoring unit opened recently, offering services for patients being evaluated for issues such as arrhythmias, heart failure and atrial fibrillation. The unit is staffed by specially trained nurses and technicians under the medical supervision of Keith Mankowitz, MD, Lynne Seacord, MD, and fellow Washington University cardiologists.

Siteman Cancer Center: Siteman’s west county facility will move into a brand-new space this summer. Chemotherapy capacity will expand, and in late 2008, radiation therapy services will be offered. Patients will continue to have access to on-site lab testing, clinical research studies and Washington University surgeons treating colon and rectal, lung and urological cancers.
