New Name, New Look, Same Great Coverage

Heart and vascular services have a new name in West County. After a recent remodel, the Heart Care Institute in West County is now the Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Heart & Vascular Center at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. The center still provides the full spectrum of outpatient cardiology services in a convenient setting. From prevention to diagnosis to rehabilitation, the Heart & Vascular Center has the technology, staff and expertise patients need for a total approach to heart care.

Under the leadership of Craig Reiss, MD, the Sam and Marilyn Fox Distinguished Professor of Medicine and the medical director of the center, patients can undergo a full range of heart care services. These include full-service diagnostic testing, consultation and management for the full spectrum of heart problems and cardiac diseases, second opinion consultations, and cardiac rehabilitation provided by licensed and certified staff in a facility designed exclusively for cardiac patients.

The center focuses on prevention and wellness and offers community lectures, a kitchen for heart-healthy cooking demonstrations and a patient library. The Heart & Vascular Center has as its goal to maintain a close working relationship with referring physicians, viewed as an integral part of the team, and to promote the quick return of patients to their referring physicians.
