Barnes-Jewish Hospital provides more than 150
community events and programs each year that reach more than 23,500 people. In addition to lectures, screenings and health fairs, Barnes-Jewish Hospital reaches out to the community by offering promotional items that generate health awareness, such as cancer, diabetes and heart kits.
Local organizations regularly use the hospital’s Speakers’ Bureau. The hospital also offers corporate health fairs and screenings at major St. Louis companies, such as Chrysler, A.G. Edwards, Mastercard, May Company and the Home Depot.
To improve convenience and availability of mammography screenings and to reduce costs, Barnes-Jewish Hospital provides a mobile Mammography Van that visits local Schnucks Markets and area businesses. It is FDA-certified.
Barnes-Jewish Hospital also sponsors and participates in high-profile community events, such as Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, St. Louis Senior Olympics, Labor Day Run, Jewish Film Festival and the Jewish Book Festival.
Barnes-Jewish Hospital achieves many of its community outreach goals through the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Foundation. The mission of Barnes-Jewish Hospital Foundation is to help relieve pain and suffering by providing financial support that enables the hospital to fulfill its purpose. Barnes-Jewish Hospital depends on the generosity of donors who contribute to the margin of excellence that sets it apart from other health-care providers. Our loyal family of donors helps the hospital meet the health-care needs of the community.
