Two of our goals: be the safest hospital and provide the best care
At Barnes-Jewish Hospital, we strive to be national leaders in medicine, which means keeping our patients safe and delivering only the highest quality services. Each year we establish targets within a series of safety and quality metrics that lead us to continuous improvement in these areas. Throughout the year we track our ongoing results against other hospitals in the nation.
All of these efforts lead to better outcomes for our patients, which, together with our physician partners at Washington University School of Medicine, is our sole mission. In 2013 we succeeded in meeting or exceeding several of our safety and quality targets.
Some of our strongest achievements occurred in the areas of reducing falls within our hospital and reducing short-term readmissions.
