As COVID-19 surges came and went throughout 2021, BJC HealthCare, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine adapted to maintain the delicate balance of caring for high volumes of patients with COVID-19 while continuing to care for patients with other health conditions. Like 2020, the year was full of constant change, but we refined and expanded what we had learned, developing and implementing best practices to address pandemic surges.
