Where do you park? How do you get where you need to go? Where can family members eat? Where is the closest lodging facility?
All the answers and help you need can be found at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Guest Services. We’re here to make your visit as pleasant as possible. Guest Services is a convenient, single point of contact for nearly anything you may need during your visit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
At Your Service
Our Guest Services representatives can help you with a number of special needs, including:
- CaringBridge - a free online service helping family and friends stay informed by creating a personal web page
- Photocopying and faxing
- Internet service (available in our north office)
- Wireless Internet
- Laptop computers available for loan (with a driver’s license and valid credit card)
- Notary services
- Shower facility – Barnes-Jewish South (for families of inpatients)
- Laundry facility
- Crossword puzzles and books
- Special occasion recognition
- Information on smoking policies
- Restaurant and dining information
- MetroLink, MetroBus or other transportation information
- Local attractions and resources
- Sending gifts and packages to patients

Red Coats to the Rescue
If you need help getting to your hospital destination, Guest Services representatives wearing red coats are available to personally escort you. This free service can be arranged by you or your referring physician by calling Guest Services at least 24 hours in advance of your arrival. Call 314-362-5196 or toll-free 800-451-4892 and a Guest Services representative will offer you directions to the hospital and tell you where to park.
The representative then will meet you at the door and escort you to your destination. Or, if you prefer upon your arrivals, you can just stop by one of the information desks to request a map. Information desks are located in the hospital main lobbies. A Guest Services representative will offer you a highlighted map to assist you around the campus.
Our Guest Services representatives can assist with the following:
- Assistance with wheel chairs
- Escorting (to and from your appointments)
- Way-finding (meeting and greeting)
- Highlighted maps
- Patient information
- Assistance with transportation needs

Or stop by one of the Information Desks in the main lobbies. Guest Services can provide detailed information about the St. Louis area, such as restaurants, transportation, attractions and special events.
Patient Advocates
During your visit it is our privilege to serve and care for you. Our goal is to provide you with exceptional medical care, compassion and excellent customer service during your time of need. If there is anything we can do to help make your hospital experience more comfortable or if you have any comments or suggestions for improvement, please call a Patient Advocate at 314-362-5196.
Lodging Accommodations
Guest Services is happy to assist you with either long- or short-term accommodations. Many options are available, both on the hospital campus and in the surrounding area.
Lost and Found Department
To report a lost or found item, call 314-747-LOST (5678). We will make every effort to locate a patient’s lost property, however, we are not responsible for lost or stolen property.
Understanding the Medical Center
Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis includes Barnes-Jewish Hospital north and south, Washington University School of Medicine and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Barnes-Jewish Hospital north includes:
Parking for all north campus services is available in the North Garage located at the corner of Forest Park Avenue & Euclid Avenue (fees may apply). Valet or self-parking are available.
Barnes-Jewish Hospital south includes:
- Charles A. Knight Trauma/Emergency Center
- All other patient divisions (call Patient Information at 314-362-5460 for details regarding patient location).
Parking for all Barnes-Jewish Hospital south services is available in the South Garage, which is located on Barnes-Jewish Hospital Plaza near Kingshighway (fees may apply).
