Dear Prospective Volunteer:
Thank you for your interest in becoming part of our volunteer team at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Our volunteers become part of the care team by assisting patients and families or by assisting the people who do. Feedback from both staff and families indicates that having caring volunteers in the hospital truly makes a positive difference at a critical time in their lives.
Because of our patient care focus, we are always looking for those people who wish to be of help to others, have good communication skills and are willing to be flexible. We offer an opportunity for a meaningful experience and the chance to make a difference in people's lives. We ask our volunteers to be part of our mission:
"We take exceptional care of people."
Because your application process is important to us and we want to ensure a stress free experience, we ask that you:
- Print and complete the Volunteer Application and Background Check Form.
- Read carefully and complete all items on the Application Checklist.
- Mail the requested material in the self-addressed envelope.
- When we receive your information, you will be contacted by our office to schedule an interview appointment with the manager of volunteer services.
- Please note your appointment time, location of the office, parking garage and name of the person you will be meeting. Map of Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
- Please bring our phone number with you in case of problems, and bring your parking ticket to the office so we can stamp for free parking.
We are pleased that you are interested in volunteering with us. We look forward to discussing our needs and your expectations with the hope that they match to create a win-win for everyone. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
Volunteer Services Team
