Siteman Cancer Center Hosts “Celebration of Life”

May 4, 2007, ST. LOUIS – To recognize the courage and triumphs of cancer survivors and those who have been a part of their journey, the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine will host its first annual “Celebration of Life” cancer survivor event Saturday, May 19, 9 a.m.-11:45 a.m. at Hudlin Park (corner of Clayton and Euclid Ave.).

A program combining music, laughter and nature will offer participants an opportunity to share in the “Celebration of Life” and plant the seeds of hope for generations to come as the Siteman Cancer Center will donate a tree to Forest Park in honor of all cancer survivors.

“This tree is a symbolic representation of the life, strength and hope of our cancer survivors,” says Arlinda Warren, director of marketing, PR and physician services at Siteman.

Keynote speaker Kathleen Passanisi will speak on the “Therapeutic Value of Laughter” and ovarian cancer survivor Pam Kuhn will share her experience with cancer at the Siteman Cancer Center.

Registration is required and light breakfast is provided. Validated parking available in the Barnes-Jewish Hospital south garage.  For more information or to register call 314-747-7222 or 800-600-3606.
