Physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) is a medical specialty that helps people who have become disabled. The physical problem might be caused by a disease, a disorder, or an injury. PM&R doctors are experts on nerves, muscles, and bones.

PM&R covers everything from cardiac rehab to pain management. These specialists can be teach you the basics of daily living, or help you recover from a fall.
