AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR (AED) GROUP TRAINING

The Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Heart & Vascular Center is helping to educate the public about sudden cardiac arrest and how to properly use an automated external defibrillator (AED)—a portable device that, when used correctly, can help increase someone’s chance of survival.

According to the American Heart Association, for every minute that passes during a sudden cardiac arrest, the chance of survival decreases by 10%. If an AED is used and shocks the heart back into a normal rhythm within minutes, chances of survival are greater than 70%. Without an AED shock, there's only a 10% chance.

Our advanced practice nurses are able to provide your St. Louis area company or organization education sessions about sudden cardiac arrest and hands-on experience with AEDs.

Complete the form below to have a Heart & Vascular Center team member contact you to schedule your group training.
