Erica, Breast Cancer Survivor

Misdiagnosed for two years. That was Erica Griffin’s story before she arrived at Siteman Cancer Center. It was the shock of her life and she faced a battle she never expected. Thankfully, Erica made a life-changing choice.

At Siteman, Erica found a caring team of Washington University specialists who were determined to help her win and defeat breast cancer. They gave her a personalized treatment plan based on her specific type of cancer and her own genetic makeup. It’s the kind of care that offers more reasons for hope than almost anywhere else.

Every day, our 350 physicians and researchers —national leaders in their field—are finding new ways to defeat cancer. This includes revolutionary research in genomic medicine that uses each patient’s unique DNA sequence to bring new hope to cancer patients around the world.

Today, Erica has celebrated her fifth year of survivorship and is back to her active, fulfilling life. All because the words she never wanted to hear are exactly what we do best.
