June 27, 2006, ST. LOUIS - Rams Park may not see much action until the preseason starts in August, but thanks to Rams receiver Isaac Bruce and the orthopedic sports medicine team at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine, it got plenty of use on June 24.

The Isaac Bruce National City Football Clinic hosted over 600 children between 8-13 years of age. The clinic, presented by Washington University School of Medicine, offered participants a day of learning not only about football, but life as well.

"Isaac''s foundation focuses on life skills," says Jennifer Vitt, spokersperson for the Isaac Bruce Foundation. "He wants kids to learn teamwork and be physically active to live a healthier lifestyle."

After participants learned pass catching and other skills, Bruce and Matt Matava, MD, orthopedic surgeon at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine and Rams team physician, talked to the kids about staying healthy and avoiding injuries.
