Less-Invasive da Vinci System Now Available

The da Vinci® Surgical System is now at the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine. Primarily used for surgery to treat prostate cancer, the state-of-the-art system provides patients with a new, minimally invasive procedure that offers significant advantages over traditional "open" surgeries.

Similar to the minimally invasive procedures completed by specially trained Siteman urologists, robot-assisted surgeries performed using the da Vinci system are less painful, result in less blood loss and lead to a quicker recovery.
