I’m very lucky. I’ve been married 25 years and I have 3 kids. They are in medical school right now. Most doctors’ kids don’t want to be doctors but we’re lucky enough that they wanted to be doctors.
The reason I chose spine is because I wanted to do something that’s going to be exciting for the rest of my life.
It’s been a great ride. I’ve been doing this for 23 years.
When I came here, I found the resources here and the structures and the available ORs and the clinics and the staff was fabulous so I thought this would be a good way to get to the next phase in my career.
When I’m in clinic, I get patients from Oklahoma, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Carolina, on a daily basis so they’re coming from everywhere and initially not because I’m here but because of Barnes-Jewish and Washington University.
It’s famous everywhere, internationally. So my goal is to continue that and make it even better.
