Barnes-Jewish Hospital has been honored by the American Stroke Association/American Heart Association with the Get With The Guidelines–Stroke (GWTG–Stroke) Honor Roll-Elite Plus Quality Achievement Award.

Missouri’s first Comprehensive Stroke Center is now also among the first hospitals certified by the state of Missouri as a Level One Stroke Center. Level I Stroke Centers function as resource centers within a region, maintaining specialized resources for the most complex patients.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital was one of the first hospitals in the country to offer patients the opportunity to have brain surgery using technology that reduced the need for follow-up surgery. Its neurosurgery team has reached a milestone by performing more than 1,000 cases using its moveable intraoperative MRI (iMRI) system – more than any other center in the United States.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital was recently honored by the American Heart Association (AHA) with two prestigious awards: the 2012-2013 “Mission: Lifeline Gold Award” and the “Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke” Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award.
