Siteman Smokeout for Life Helps Smokers “Kick the Habit”

November 3, 2009, ST. LOUIS - In recognition of the American Cancer Society’s annual Great American Smokeout, the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine will host its own “Siteman Smokeout for Life!” Thursday, November 19, 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the new Carondelet Park Rec Plex, 930 Holly Hills Dr., operated by the YMCA of Greater St. Louis.

Attendees can test their lung age through a pulmonary function screening, have a chance to “Ask the Doctor” questions about lung disease and find out information about Siteman’s smoking cessation programs. Additional screenings will be available, as well as mammograms on the Siteman Cancer Center Mammography Van.

In addition, a past and present St. Louis Cardinals player will be on hand to meet, greet and sign autographs.
