A mother-daughter pair make the ultimate gift by completing a pioneering multi-organ transplant chain at Barnes-Jewish, while Barnes-Jewish Hospital Foundation funding helps their surgeon achieve breakthroughs.

Cardiac Surgeon Dr. Jennifer Lawton at Barnes Jewish Hospital is a proponent of the off pump method and says it works for her patients: 'There's a lower blood transfusion rate with off-pump surgery, and the patients are discharged approximately one day sooner."

Dr. Wall has devoted his life to helping these most voiceless of the voiceless, promoting the $300 surgeries that repair fistulas and typically return the patients to full health.
