Only Missouri hospital ranked among the nation’s elite for 23rd consecutive year

Barnes-Jewish Hospital has been reverified as a nationally recognized Level 1 Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The new verification will be in effect until February 2018.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital and its physician partners at Washington University School of Medicine have been named on Becker’s Hospital Review 2015 list of “100 Great Hospitals in America.”

On May 5, The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital will join St. Louis area nonprofit organizations for Give STL Day, an annual day of online giving.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital has been honored by the American Stroke Association/American Heart Association with the Get With The Guidelines–Stroke (GWTG–Stroke) Honor Roll-Elite Plus Quality Achievement Award.

Missouri’s first Comprehensive Stroke Center is now also among the first hospitals certified by the state of Missouri as a Level One Stroke Center. Level I Stroke Centers function as resource centers within a region, maintaining specialized resources for the most complex patients.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital was recently recognized as a Missouri Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite through its proactive efforts to support employees who choose to breastfeed their children. Barnes-Jewish joins a growing number of Missouri businesses as a Breastfeeding Friendly employer, which provides private lactation rooms, time for breast pumping and other benefits to maintain breastfeeding after a mother returns to work.

The Washington University, Barnes-Jewish and St. Louis Children’s consortium ranked No. 7 among national training institutions most recognized for the quality of residency programs across multiple specialties.
