From the President
It is a pleasure to be here in St. Louis as the new president of Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. While I’ve traded in a view of the Pacific for the Mississippi River, I’ve also traded up in baseball teams and have enjoyed getting to know St. Louis.
I’ve been impressed by Midwestern friendliness and getting to know the neighborhoods—especially the beautiful Central West End and Forest Park, which sits across the across the street from the hospital, where our 9,000 employees and 1,700 physicians provide outstanding care.
In my past position as chief executive officer and associate vice chancellor of the University of California San Diego Medical Center, we looked to elite academic hospitals like Barnes-Jewish as leaders in patient care, quality and innovation and benchmarked our performance against them. It is a privilege to be working alongside our physician partners at Washington University School of Medicine as we continue our work as national leaders in medicine.
I look forward to meeting community members and working together to make our St. Louis region healthy, with access to the best health care nationwide.
President, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital
