A minimally-invasive procedure called endonasal microsurgery allows neurosurgeons to remove some brain tumors through a patient's nose, rather than opening the skull to access the brain. The procedure, used primarily for pituitary gland and other base of skull tumors, eliminates scarring and reduces the patient's pain and recovery time.
