Cliff Politte and Dr. Matthew Smith

Former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Cliff Politte injured a tendon in his elbow while teaching a high school baseball clinic. Matthew Smith, MD, a Washington University orthopedic surgeon at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, repaired Politte's distal bicep tendon. After surgery and physicial therapy, Politte was able to return to the mound.
