Student Scholars

The Medical Staff Association annually supports one student in each class with full scholarships through their four years at Washington University School of Medicine. The following students are scholarship recipients:

Class of 2010

Alton Williams is from Clarksville, Tennessee. He graduated from Austin Peay State University with a double major in biology and history. He completed an internship at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the division of HIV/AIDS prevention. In his leisure time, Alton enjoys performing and listening to oral poetry.

Class of 2009

Joshua Reyes was born in Rockford, Illinois. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he majored in Zoology. During college, he volunteered at Health for Friends, a clinic for low-income patients. He spent summers on missions to Mexico and Papua, New Guinea. He is a cellist and has performed with the Tulsa Symphony.

Class of 2008

Nsangou Ghogomu is from Cameroon, West Africa. He attended the University of Illinois, Champaign, where he graduated with a B.S. in chemistry and a minor in international studies in 2004. He was a Howard Hughes research fellow, participated in the Baylor/Rice HPA MMEP program and had a preceptorship under the supervision of a pediatric surgeon.

Class of 2007

Luke Hall is from Harrisburg, Ill. He attended Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois where he graduated in May 2003 with a B.A. in chemistry. Luke was a Greenville College Scholar and received the chemistry and physics awards. He is planning a career in Family Medicine.
