Barnes-Jewish Hospital has once again achieved the highest acknowledgment of nursing excellence – Magnet recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Two new 12-story inpatient towers built by BJC HealthCare on the Washington University Medical Campus are aimed at enhancing the care and comfort of patients at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Siteman Cancer Center.

The single best way for families to protect against the flu is to get vaccinated each year. The flu, or influenza, is a contagious respiratory illness with symptoms such as fever, body aches and sore throat. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 200,000 Americans are hospitalized with flu-related complications each year.

The Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Transplant Center recently reached a significant milestone when surgeons performed the 5,000th adult kidney transplant. The kidney transplant program is one of the largest in the nation and is renowned for its excellent patient outcomes.

Barnes-Jewish is the only hospital in St. Louis and one of only five in Missouri to be designated a Baby-Friendly birth facility.
