Gary Harris is lighter on his feet in the classroom these days, thanks to a 70-pound weight loss that allows this history teacher at Cleveland ROTC High School in St. Louis to pace around his students. "I don''t like sitting while I teach, but that''s how I used to do it, because physically, it was just too tiring to stand," says Harris, who lives in south St. Louis County.

A family history of cancer is an important cancer risk factor and may be associated with an increased chance to develop one or more types of cancer. People with a higher risk for cancer may benefit from earlier cancer screening or treatment. Those with a strong family history of cancer may have a specific hereditary cancer syndrome.

Despite warnings about the dangers of skin cancer, many Americans will ignore the risk this summer and hope to get what they believe is a healthy bronze glow. This while one in five Americans is affected by skin cancer and the number of young people with skin cancer is increasing.
