Mycle Brandy, a four-time stroke survivor and American Heart Association volunteer, is walking across the country to raise awareness of stroke prevention. On July 30, he visited Barnes-Jewish Hospital to visit with stroke unit nurses and encourage recent stroke patients.

For 17 years, John DiPersio, MD, PhD, has been drawing doodles on scraps of paper. He has turned many of these drawings into a unique T-shirt design for each annual bone marrow transplant (BMT) patient celebration and now those drawings have been made into a special quilt.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine have filed a Certificate of Need Letter of Intent with the Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee to build a new Siteman Cancer Center in south St. Louis County, serving the I-55 corridor and southern Illinois. The two organizations also have signed a contract to purchase property for the new facility.
