Training Clinical Pharmacists
The Department of Pharmacy at Barnes-Jewish Hospital offers six experiential residency training programs. The goals of each program include preparing the resident to provide optimal and compassionate pharmaceutical care, communicate effectively, educate self and others and demonstrate commitment to the profession of pharmacy. In all programs, clinical experiences are tailored to meet the needs of the individual resident and are based on past experience and future career preferences. Residents receive one-on-one instruction and guidance from a talented group of over 25 clinical pharmacy specialists and numerous other patient care pharmacists. In addition, they benefit from interacting with the outstanding faculty of the Washington University School of Medicine working in a multitude of medical school departments and with the numerous physicians in training at the medical center.
