I moved to St. Louis because Barnes-Jewish is considered one of the best nuclear med departments in the nation… I ended up liking it so much that I never left, and I’ve been here for 18 years. Other places are staffed with radiologists who read nuclear medicine on the side, whereas our physicians read only nuclear medicine. It’s their focus and specialty. Our image quality is superior, and we’re practicing the best nuclear medicine available.

This is the challenge of a lifetime.
We conduct some of the more rare studies here, and we’re exposed to the full spectrum of nuclear medicine. Our radiologists do the best work there is to be done, and they expect the best of us. Whatever the hospital needs, we take care of it. Every day is a new challenge, and it’s never the same. If you embrace change, this is the place for you.

A place to grow. The place to stay.
Barnes-Jewish definitely supports and encourages our growth, and there are a lot of opportunities for continuing education. In fact, Barnes-Jewish Hospital pays for us to belong to the Society of Nuclear Medicine. When you belong to the society you can log in and get free continuing education credits at any time. I think that’s a great benefit.

The stability of working at Barnes-Jewish is tremendous. At a smaller hospital or stand-alone clinic, I wouldn’t have this sense of security. It’s a great place to be, from management to technologists. It’s a total team atmosphere, and I wouldn’t work anywhere else in St. Louis.
