AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
In recognition of our commitment to the U.S. Military, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was recently awarded the “Above and Beyond Award” from the Missouri Committee of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
The Above and Beyond Award is presented to recognize employers that exceed expectations and legal requirements for support of Guard and Reserve employees. This includes additional, non mandated benefits such as compensation for lost wages, extended health benefits, and other similar benefits. The award is given in limited numbers to employers who have had a least one supervisor or a team recognized.
Barnes-Jewish was recognized for the tremendous team effort made by leadership and team members to provide scheduling support and flexibility for Reservists to meet military commitments throughout the year.
If you are military or a military spouse, consider some suggestions for your effective job search:
✓ Create a resume in which military jargon has been replaced with the similar civilian terminology
✓ Obtain coaching to develop interview skills for conversations with non-military employers.
It is essential for civilian hiring managers to understand where and how you can excel as a member of any high performing team.
